Curator of Contemporary Art

 

Marie-Claude Landry has occupied the position of Curator of Contemporary Art at the MAJ since 2011. She has worked in a variety of Montreal museums and art venues, such as artist-run centres and Quebec’s maisons de la culture. She has also coordinated some thirty exhibitions, including Trafic’Art : Les formes du temps (2010), a contemporary art biennial produced by Galerie Séquence in the Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec. Her projects as an exhibition curator include Milutin Gubash : Les faux-semblants, presented at the MAJ in the fall of 2012. Ms. Landry sat on the jury for the Sobey Art Award (2013) and has been a member of various boards of directors and selection committees, in addition to participating in numerous publication projects. In her capacity as a co-curator and essayist, she has, among other things, used the works in the MAJ’s collection for the exhibition Stéphane Gilot : The Future’s Catalogue (2016).
