{"id":1182,"date":"2017-12-05T13:50:55","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T18:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cieco.umontreal.ca\/?p=1182"},"modified":"2022-03-31T09:51:50","modified_gmt":"2022-03-31T13:51:50","slug":"publication-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cieco.umontreal.ca\/en\/publication-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Publication"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BOUCHER, M\u00e9lanie (2017). \u00ab\u00a0Pour une histoire du corps mus\u00e9ifi\u00e9\u00a0: les \u201c\u00a0images sch\u00e9matiques\u201d en performance\u00a0\u00bb, Leveratto, Jean-Marc, <em>Culture et mus\u00e9es<\/em>, dossier \u00ab\u00a0conserver et transmettre la performance artistique\u00a0\u00bb, n<sup>o<\/sup> 27.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since the 2000s, museums have been presenting an increasing number of performances outside the traditional framework of specific activities.\u00a0Although this change in programing is in line with the evolution of the field of performance, it also appears to meet the request for the creation of events that museums now honor in a compliance that could favour the display of works whose very subject is the institution itself.\u00a0This context would benefit performances using schematic images\u00a0\u2013\u00a0as defined by art historian Horst Bredekamp \u2013 both in the way they are set up and in their narrative potential.\u00a0Taking the 1970s as a starting point, this article envisions the history of performances in a museum setting from the perspective of artists\u2019 use of schematic images conceived with the body, according to Horst Bredekamp\u2019s definition.
